“I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America.” “He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.” Taken from the New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/23/opinion/charles-blow-who-loves-america.html?ref=topics&_r=0
When I heard about this story I thought it was a one day news cycle. Why is it a national sensation whether the President of the United States “loves” this country and why should Mr. Giulliani have to apologize for what is clearly his point of view? We should be more concerned about what the president is actually DOING for this country. There are a lot of things wrong with this country that I am concerned about. I am actually disappointed that President Obama has not done more to reform the behemoth that is the government bureaucracy or improve this country’s financial balance sheet. We are a bankrupt country. Outside, things look normal, but we are bankrupt financially. Someone is taking offense that Mr. Obama “doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me?” Did we elect someone to be president or someone to marry? Instead of focusing on “love,” let’s focus on the business at hand. After all, he was elected as a man in charge, not as a love interest.
