Thoughts on the Super Bowl

Why were the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl?  It was discovered on the day of the AFC championship game that their balls were deflated.  Why weren’t they disqualified?  It would have given the Colts two weeks to prepare, just like the other team.  Does it matter who did it?  It benefitted the team in a dishonest way, so the whole team should have been disqualified.  What are we teaching kids by this example, that it’s okay to cheat and you can still play in the Super Bowl?

I don’t like the Pats because Belichick always looks grumpy on camera, even when he’s winning.

I don’t like the Pats because Brady never seems happy.  He’s hard on himself.

I don’t like the Pats because this is their second discovered incident of cheating, the first being Spygate.

During the game, I just called them cheaters, because that’s what they are.

I don’t understand how there were calls to dismiss Roger Goedell on the Ray Rice issue, but crickets regarding accountability for the Patriots.  Domestic violence is a personal issue, not a professional one.  As long as there are humans in this world, they will make mistakes.  If anything, Rice would have been under more scrutiny after this.  But deflating a football, oh excuse me, 11 out of 12 footballs, whooooaaaaaa, you’re going to the Super Bowl!

What a bunch of schmucks.
